• The financial side of my new life utilizes a multiple streams of income model. What are multiple streams of income? Simply put multiple streams of income is a term fairly common these days, especially in the web-based economy community of entrepreneurs.
  • The definition I’m using focuses on leveraging income from a variety of different sources. While building new businesses from scratch there can often be erratic levels of income. The benefit is threefold:
    • Income Stabilization – As there are multiple streams of income the highs and lows among them can lead to more predictable and stable level over
    • Risk Management – The strategy allows diversification of risks over different business ventures
    • Variety – My personality is suited to and fed by having a variety of endeavors to keep me entertained.
  • The approach is akin to the old saying “Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.”
  • What do my multiple streams look like? Over the past year they have varied somewhat as I’ve pulled together various endeavors. Here is things look like right now:
    • Career Coaching – My company/LLC focused on coaching services and products to the career market
    • Business Coaching – My company/LLC focused on coaching services and products to various sized business, including new startups. IT consulting is often a part of these services.
    • Career Coaching – I am an employee of a national reemployment organization. NextJob is an exceptional organization which does some pretty extraordinary things beyond normal employer outplacement services. NextJob is the organization that has partnered with 5/3 Bank on Homeowner Reemployment (Mortgages), Brand of You Campaign focused on Coaching Scholarships for Recent Graduates, and most recently a campaign focused on Coaching Scholarships for military veterans.
    • IT Consulting – I am an employee of a global consulting organization. RGP (Resources Global Professionals) was birthed from the Big Four accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche. It truly is a different kind of consulting firm with an excellent culture. I’ve worked with some excellent consultants.
  • So, you may be asking yourself “How in the world do 4 jobs meld together on a daily basis?” Great question! The good news is that to some great extent, I control the dial on how much activity comes to me from the two employee situations. I am very grateful to both organizations for their flexibility and their models that permit me to work in this manner. Layered on top of those, I directly control the dials on my two companies. Given all the activity, things are working pretty well overall. It can get crazy and challenging at times! As you may already have proposed in your mind – my short term strategy is to always bias towards income opportunities and my longer term strategy is to play favoritism to my own businesses, as they grow I’ll adjust the dial on the other two as needed.
  • In the meantime, I’m really enjoying the variety of people, challenges, and problem solving involved. And of course the huge scope of problems and situations people are struggling with and wanting to solve in their lives. Thanks for reading! Make your life the one you want to live!
